About me

 

Hi, I'm Helen, a British travel-addict with a curious streak, who loves to explore, hike and visit new places. 

 

I’ve always loved travelling and at the age of 20 I moved to the USA for a year’s work placement, which ignited my passion even more. Since then, my desire to travel to new places has grown.

I'm an Events Professional by trade and love to plan! I'm always planning vacations, weekend hiking trips and city breaks and I'm forever researching new places to visit!

​

As well as travelling, my other love is hiking. I have so many fond memories of taking walks with my Grandad when I was younger and I’ve always been an outdoors kinda girl! In the UK, I love making the most of the weekend with hiking trips to the Peak District, The Cotswolds or South Coast. 

 

For me, there’s nothing better than lacing up a pair of hiking boots and setting off to somewhere with beautiful views of mountains, waterfalls, forests, and rivers. Pretty much every trip I take involves a hike or walk of some kind, some of my stand out ones include hiking in Australia's Blue Mountains and in the hill country of Ella, Sri Lanka.

I've been luckily enough to take some amazing trips and whilst I was working full time, I always made sure I maximised my holiday time! My favourite style of holiday is a road trip. I spent two weeks travelling from Toronto to Vancouver in Canada, which opened my eyes to the immense beauty of Canada, I would love to go back someday. I've also hired a car in Croatia and spent two weeks exploring the gorgeous coastal towns and national parks there. I even planned a three week road trip from Las Vegas to LA for my honeymoon.

I've recently taken the plunge and quit my job to travel full time with my husband. We started our travels in September 2021, driving our car for 3 months through France, Germany, Switzerland. and Spain. Then in January 2022 we boarded a one way flight to Thailand, where we spent the next 3 months. After Thailand, we travelled through Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore and Malaysia. Currently, we're in Bali for two months before we aim to finish the year in Australia and New Zealand.

I'll be sharing details of all my trips, including itineraries, destination guides, recommendations and honest reviews. I hope to encourage you to get out, explore and have some adventures of your own.
